All Things Walking
Portland's Poetry Posts
There are numerous poetry posts throughout the Portland area. This is a great video about the posts. And thanks to a friend who sent me an email and suggested that I add this to the ATW.

Portland Walking:
South Tabor Walking Groups
http://takeitoutsidefitness.blogspot.com/2012/05/south-tabor-walking-groups.html
The goal of these walks is to meet neighbors and to team up for additional walks
based on your own schedules. Plus you'll have an opportunity to talk with a
personal trainer and lifestyle/weight management coach.
You  can email me at Kristin (at} take it outside fitness {dot} com for more details
or comment below. Kristin@takeitoutsidefitness.com
I came across this from a post by Laura Foster on my facebook page. Looks interesting and I posted the weekly Wed walks in South Tabor on the ATW calendar.

Southwest Trails Group
http://swtrails.org/
We organize group hikes and sponsor a regular monthly hike.
Our volunteer crews build and maintain trails in SW Portland.
We work with city, county and state planners to develop new walking biking opportunities in SW.
We advocate for more resources for hiking/biking.

 Lloydtma
http://www.lloydtma.org/about-us
The mission of the Lloyd TMA is to support and promote the economic vitality and  livability of the Lloyd District through cooperative, business-supported p rograms promoting efficient, balanced transportation systems and land use  patterns. They did have some walks listed but none are listed now. I'll keep this up because it is still a useful resource. They may post more walks in the future.

Forest Park Conservancy
Discovery Hike series
Break out your boots, dust off your pack and join the Forest Park Conservancy for our annual series of
guided hikes. Our Discovery Series is a great opportunity to get outside and learn more about the natural and cultural history of Forest Park. Check back often as the list keeps growing. ( I haven't posted these to the ATW calendar as of yet.) http://www.forestparkconservancy.org/park-programs/discovery-hike-series.html

30 Great Hikes and Trails
http://www.portlandmonthlymag.com/travel-and-outdoors/articles/trails-0609/?clid=CLmr5MeVp7ACFQtThwodSnWRVw
ONE OF THE BEST things about living in Portland is the ease with which
we can escape the city for more rugged delights: a peak-packed panorama in the
Gorge, a bird’s-eye view of the beach, a high alpine meadow strewn with nature’s
floral confetti. But maximizing those out-your-back-door adventures requires
some serious at-your-kitchen-table homework. So we paged through guidebooks*,
consulted local experts, and wore a little leather off our own boots to bring
you these thirty hiking and biking trails, all easily drivable in a day. By our
count, there are about thirty weekend days left before the rain returns this
  fall—and we’ve got a ready-made adventure for every one.

AllTrails Portland
http://alltrails.com/us/oregon/portland
Information about hiking trails in the Portland area and beyond. Very informative website.
You can also follow Alltrails Portland on Twitter. This is a great feed for information on hikes and events.  http://twitter.com/#!/HikePortland
If you follow AllTrailsPortland on twitter they often have hikes for free as long as you RSVP. I follow them and receive tweets about hikes that are coming up. (I don't post them on the ATW calendar)

Dill Pickle Walking Tours
Exploratory walking tours of seldom-mentioned histories and little-known facts.
http://dillpickleclub.org/
I picked up a brochure about Dill pickle while visiting the store of the Faux Museum while I was out walking. This is the World's oldest museum. Might be a great destination after a walk around Old Town in Portland. http://thefauxmuseum.com/

Neighborhood Notes

Discusses neighborhood walking routes, lists 50 downloadable treks, and talks about where and how to join a walking group.

The Forest Park Conservancy
Registration for the new All Trails Challenge will open Feb 20th 2012.
The popular Forest Park Conservancy All Trails Challenge returned in 2011 as a
completely re-imagined event, and was a huge success. The all-new ATC will
return in 2012 as a year-round opportunity to experience all 80 miles of trails
in Forest Park, with lots of support and incentives provided by FPC!
