Geocaching There is also a Geocaching app which is what you use to find geocaches from your phone. The Geocaching app developed by Groundspeak is the one that is recommended. There are others to choose from.
Geocaching is a fun activity that can be done while walking. You can open the app and find all the geocaches near you and then pick the ones you want to find. Geocaching also has many types of caches, some involve solving puzzles or other games. The geocaching community is growing and they have events for people to attend.
There is also the Adventure Lab Geocaching app that you can download onto your phone. This is a new type of geocaching. One can go on an adventure lab hike and stop at designated geocache sites and answer questions before moving on to the next destination. It is an exciting addition to the standard way of geocaching.

StoryWalk combines reading and walking (children's books) along a trail or a path. I find these often near a library or a sometimes parks will have a storywalk for children. The pages of the book can be more spread out. It's a great way to engage children in the outdoors.
Wind Phone: Let the wind take your words. Wind phones are a way to process grief allowing people to talk to their loved ones who are deceased. The words are carried by the wind instead of through a telephone line. They are found often in quiet places and are growing in popularity. They have different designs but include a telephone.
Check out the wind map on the website link above.
