A website that tries to cover all aspects of walking. Walking is what we do everyday.
There is something for every walker on this site.

Lace Up Your Shoes and Go For a Walk in 2021 (Just 30 minutes a day, even in 3, ten minute segments will change your overall health-so what's stopping you?)

Please enjoy this website and stay healthy during this time of Covid-19. Walking or hiking in small groups <10 and maintaining social distance is what is recommended for now. Save the big hiking trips and travel plans for a future time when the crisis has passed.

Matt Green has walked all the streets, parks, cemeteries etc... in all five boroughs in New York City. In 2010 he also walked from Rockaway Beach in New York to Rockaway Beach in Oregon. I have a few articles and interviews of his. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The World Before Your Feet For over six years, and for reasons he can't explain, Matt Green, 37, has been walking every block of every street in New York City – a journey of more than 8,000 miles.  From filmmaker Jeremy Workman and Executive Producer Jesse Eisenberg, The World before Your Feet is a feature-length documentary that tells the story of one man’s unusual personal quest and the unexpected journey of discovery, humanity, and wonder that ensues. And now you can watch the documentary from home.

A huge Thank You

I want to give thanks and appreciation to everyone who creates videos, films, websites, writes books or articles, leads tours etc... Without all of their interesting content and valuable information my website really would not exist. My mission is to bring all this interesting material about walking into one website.
Since 2017 I have been incredibly busy as a walking and active transportation advocate and also working on Regional trails in the Metro area. I graduated from the Walking College in 2017 and am actively participating in about 11 meetings per month in this role as a volunteer. And I blog for Groupworks. My website has been humming along with updates and new information but in May 2019 I am looking more deeply into my website. Hopefully some older links will be removed, new content added and I will look for more events. Meanwhile, please feel free to contact me (no spam please!)
Again, Thank You.
